His post responded to media accounts claiming he had taken over the purchasing process himself. Those claims were also linked to possible corruption.
Chai said the wine was acquired in strict compliance with Thai Airways' rules and procedures, and that all steps could be reviewed at any time. He gave no further detail on the allegations.
