GA Telesis has announced its first dismantling programme for a Boeing 737 Max 8. The US aviation services company said the work begins on 15 October and is intended to make spare parts available on the used market for the still-young aircraft generation.

Avionics, flight control components, landing gear parts and hydraulic and pneumatic systems are to be recovered from the aircraft. The parts will be checked, overhauled where needed and then marketed through GA Telesis's worldwide distribution network.

Two days before the 737 Max announcement, the company said it had acquired three Airbus A320 Neo aircraft with Leap engines for dismantling. With the two moves, GA Telesis is expanding its offering for both of the main short- and medium-haul aircraft families.

GA Telesis is not the first company to break up a Boeing 737 Max. The British spare parts specialist Aerfin had already acquired two nearly new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft in May 2026 in order to market their components.
