Turkish Airlines and CFM International sign MoU covering more than 600 LEAP-1B engines
Turkish Airlines and CFM International have signed a memorandum of understanding covering more than 600 LEAP-1B engines flown by the carrier and its subsidiary AJet, along with a new engine MRO facility in Turkey.

Turkish Airlines and CFM International have signed a memorandum of understanding covering more than 600 LEAP-1B engines operated by the flag carrier and its subsidiary AJet. The long-term services agreement also covers the development of an engine maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Turkey.
The framework was signed at a ceremony in Istanbul and sets out a long-term services arrangement for the group's entire LEAP-1B fleet. Its scope takes in engines already ordered and delivered, spare units, engines tied to aircraft under lease arrangements, and potential options. The more than 600 engines cover those in service and those projected across Turkish Airlines and AJet operations, and the agreement extends to the introduction of newly ordered Boeing 737 MAX aircraft into the airline's expanding fleet.
The memorandum also includes a materials services agreement to back the establishment of a new engine MRO centre in Turkey. Turkish Technic would provide support services for the LEAP engine family from that site.
According to the announcement, officials from both organisations said the agreement would support the airline's growing fleet, its route network and operational efficiency.
