Iberia gets unrestricted approval for Airbus A350 heavy maintenance

Spanish regulator AESA has granted Iberia Mantenimiento an unrestricted approval to perform comprehensive maintenance on the Airbus A350, following a two-year preparation process.

Airbus A350

Iberia has received an unrestricted approval from Spain's aviation authority AESA to conduct comprehensive maintenance on the Airbus A350. This allows Iberia Mantenimiento to carry out heavy maintenance across the entire A350 fleet.

The approval followed two years of preparation, involving more than 150 measures in areas such as training, engineering, production, infrastructure and quality assurance, according to the airline.

Iberia Mantenimiento employs more than 3,000 staff and serves over 120 customers. The facility performs more than 120 major aircraft maintenance events and 200 engine overhauls annually.
