Iberia to spotlight Spanish cuisine for its centenary in 2027
Iberia will feature Spanish cuisine more prominently on board and in its premium lounges in 2027 as part of its 100th anniversary, under an agreement with the Real Academia de Gastronomía.
Iberia plans to give Spanish cooking a bigger role on board and in its premium lounges in 2027, the year of its 100th anniversary. The airline has agreed a partnership with the Real Academia de Gastronomía to support the effort.
Tastings, new menus and snacks built around seasonal and regional products are planned during 2027. Iberia says the focus will be on the origin, tradition and regional variety of Spanish cuisine. Among the possible areas of emphasis it names tinned fish and seafood, vegetables, and extra virgin olive oil.
The culinary programme forms part of the carrier's centenary celebrations.
