Iranian carrier Atlas Air resumes Tehran-Minsk flights despite US sanctions

Iran's Atlas Air operated two more flights between Tehran and Minsk in late September and early October, after an earlier run of services on the route was halted around the time US sanctions were imposed. The airline has given no official explanation for the schedule changes.

Atlas Air, an Iranian airline, flew between Tehran and Minsk in late September and early October, according to the channel Ot Vinta. A Boeing 737-400 registered EP-SAU landed in the Belarusian capital on 29 September and again on 2 October, operating as IRH6446 and IRH6447.

The airline had already served the route in September, using a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 on four consecutive Sundays. The flights were then stopped and the connection removed from the airline's website without an official explanation. The halt coincided with the imposition of American sanctions against Atlas Air.

Ot Vinta reports that the two later flights overlapped with the Innoprom Belarus 2026 industrial fair in Minsk, held from 30 September to 2 October, which a large Iranian delegation attended.
