Jazeera Airways selects Leap-1A engines for nine more A320neo jets
CFM International will supply Leap-1A engines for nine additional Airbus A320neo aircraft ordered by Kuwait's Jazeera Airways, and the two sides have widened their existing service agreement.
CFM International said on Tuesday, 29 September that Jazeera Airways has picked its Leap-1A engines to power nine more Airbus A320neo aircraft. The jets come from the Kuwaiti low-cost carrier's existing order book of 26 aircraft.
The airline and CFM are also widening their current service agreement, which will now cover its present and future fleet, a total of 29 aircraft from the A320neo family, along with spare engines.
Jazeera Airways flies eleven A320neo aircraft fitted with Leap-1A engines and 13 A320ceo aircraft powered by CFM56-5B engines. In 2018 it became the first operator in the Middle East of an A320neo with Leap-1A engines.
