JetBlue opens daily Fort Lauderdale–Barranquilla route
JetBlue launched nonstop daily service between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla, its third Colombian destination, with Cali to follow later this month.

JetBlue launched daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla on Thursday.
Barranquilla is the airline's third destination in Colombia, after Medellín and Cartagena. Cali is due to join the network at the end of this month, which would bring JetBlue to four Colombian cities.
Daniel Shurz, JetBlue's senior vice president for revenue, network and enterprise planning, said the airline was pleased to add Barranquilla. He described Fort Lauderdale as a connecting gateway linking passengers to destinations across its wider network in the United States and beyond. The new service builds on the airline's long history of serving Colombia, he said, with fares aimed at business travellers, tourists and people visiting family.
Airbus A320-family aircraft operate the flights. JetBlue presents the launch as part of its growth in Colombia and as a step in consolidating Fort Lauderdale as its main hub for traffic between the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
No figures for seat capacity or frequency beyond the daily schedule were given.
