Lagardère Travel Retail expands dining operations at Madinah airport

Lagardère Travel Retail has opened two new dining concepts at Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, bringing its total to 20 restaurants across three airports in the Kingdom.

Lagardère Travel Retail has opened two new dining concepts at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. One is Marché, the company's international food hall concept, adapted for the airport's international passenger environment. The other is Sawa, a regional concept new to Madinah.

Lagardère said the openings show its commitment to developing travel experiences in the Kingdom. The company now runs 20 restaurants across three Saudi airports: Riyadh, Dammam, and Madinah. The move extends a partnership with Tibah Airports, the Madinah airport operator, which started with duty free in 2023 and has since expanded into travel essentials and dining.

Vincent Romet, Lagardère Travel Retail's COO for MEA and Asia, said the openings reflect the strength of local teams and the ability to combine international expertise with an understanding of each location. The company noted that Madinah is a global spiritual destination for millions of pilgrims and plays an increasingly important role in the Kingdom's tourism and economic diversification. Lagardère's dining portfolio pairs its own concepts with regional and international partner brands, backed by local operational expertise.
