Leidos wins $672.5m TSA checkpoint screening equipment contract

The TSA has awarded Leidos a US$672.5m contract under the Checkpoint Screening Equipment Deployment Services program, covering checkpoint screening equipment at airports across the United States.

The Transportation Security Administration awarded Leidos a contract worth US$672.5m for the Checkpoint Screening Equipment Deployment Services program, or SEDS II.

Leidos will supply checkpoint screening equipment for airports across the United States, and will install, relocate and remove equipment where required.

The contract calls for TSA checkpoints to be equipped with what the agency describes as state-of-the-art screening technology, deployed efficiently and in line with federal standards. According to the source, the arrangement is intended to improve passenger safety and throughput.
