Lufthansa Group adds Nagoya and second daily Tokyo Narita service for summer 2027
Lufthansa will resume Frankfurt–Nagoya flights and add a second daily Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita connection from late March 2027, part of a wider group push that will bring up to 50 weekly flights to Japan.

Lufthansa Group is adding capacity to Japan for the summer 2027 season. It will bring back a direct Frankfurt–Nagoya link and add a further daily service to Tokyo Narita.
The Nagoya route returns on 29 March 2027 and runs three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flight LH736 leaves Frankfurt at 14:10 local time and reaches Nagoya at 09:35 the next day. The return leg, LH737, departs Nagoya at 11:30 and arrives in Frankfurt at 18:30.
The new Frankfurt–Narita service starts a day earlier, on 28 March 2027, and operates daily on a seasonal basis. LH710 departs Frankfurt at 13:45 and lands at 09:30 the following morning. LH711 leaves Narita at 11:20 and arrives back in Frankfurt at 18:40. Lufthansa already flies daily from Frankfurt and Munich to Tokyo Haneda.
Both routes will use Boeing 787-9s with the group's Allegris cabin, configured with 28 business class seats, 28 in premium economy and 231 in economy.
Chief commercial officer Dieter Vranckx said Japan is an important market for the group, and that the additional capacity and the return of Nagoya flights would strengthen its position there.
Swiss, part of the group, is also adding capacity on its Zurich–Tokyo Narita service, taking it to as many as seven weekly flights in summer 2027.
Across Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and ITA Airways, the group will offer up to 50 weekly connections to Japan, covering Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka and Nagoya. The group said strong passenger demand growth in key markets is driving the expansion.
