Lufthansa Group ends free seat selection for HON Circle members on Economy Light
Lufthansa Group is removing a further seating perk for its top-tier frequent flyers. From 27 October, HON Circle members will pay for seat reservations on intercontinental Economy Light fares.

Lufthansa Group is trimming benefits for its top-tier frequent flyers. Starting 27 October, HON Circle members will pay for a seat reservation when booking an Economy Light fare on intercontinental flights. That perk had been free until now.
Seat reservations were already chargeable for the group's top status customers in Premium Economy Light and Business Light fares. Free seat selection remains in place in all other intercontinental Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class fares.
The change covers flights operated by Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, Discover Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Lufthansa City. It is the booking date that determines whether the new rule applies, and it covers bookings made from 27 October onwards.
