Lufthansa Group expects ten percent growth from full ITA Airways integration
Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr says full integration of ITA Airways next year should expand the group by around ten percent. Lufthansa currently holds 41 percent of ITA and plans to raise that to 90 percent in the first quarter of 2027.
Lufthansa Group expects to grow by about ten percent next year, once ITA Airways is fully integrated, group chief executive Carsten Spohr said at an event for journalists in Frankfurt on Monday evening. That covers fleet size, revenue and available seat kilometres.
Lufthansa holds 41 percent of ITA Airways and plans to raise its stake to 90 percent in the first quarter of 2027. Spohr said roughly 90 percent of the planned integration steps are done.
Some approvals are still missing, especially from the United States. They are delaying the full inclusion of ITA Airways in the transatlantic joint venture with United Airlines and Air Canada, among other things.
