Singapore Airlines keeps longest nonstop routes with premium-heavy A350 cabin
Singapore Airlines still operates the world's longest nonstop commercial flights, between Singapore and New York, using A350-900ULR aircraft configured with a small, premium-heavy cabin.
Singapore Airlines has held the record for the longest nonstop commercial air routes for years. Two services link Singapore Changi Airport and New York, spending close to 19 hours in the air.
According to the airline, the routes work because it did not simply take an existing aircraft and push it to fly further. The carrier built its operation around the Airbus A350-900ULR and paired that range with a deliberately small cabin weighted toward premium seating, a layout shaped by the economics of an ultra-long-haul mission.
