Memmingen airport invests over €10 million in expansion
Germany's Memmingen airport is spending more than €10 million this year on terminal and apron upgrades, aiming to support continued passenger growth.
Memmingen airport is spending more than ten million euros this year to expand its infrastructure, the airport said. Work is underway on the terminal's upper floor, where extra gates are being added mainly for travellers from outside the Schengen area, with the aim of cutting waiting times during peak periods.
Construction on the terminal's west side is finished. Work continues on the eastern section.
The airport is also enlarging its apron. Two new aircraft stands, reachable on foot, are meant to add capacity and support further growth. A new turnpad is planned for autumn, which would make it easier for aircraft to turn around at the eastern end of the runway.
For 2026, the airport expects around 3.8 million passengers, up from 3.7 million the previous year.
