Miami runway overrun details remain unclear as NTSB releases limited data

The fatal runway overrun in Miami last Sunday has become more confusing as more details emerge, according to the latest episode of AvTalk. Investigators are working with ADS-B data and limited flight data recorder information released so far by the NTSB.

The episode also covered a computer failure at NATS that led to the cancellation of 1,500 flights over two days in the UK, and the eruption of Anak Krakatau halting flights in Jakarta.

Separately, one of only two active DC-8s suffered a runway overrun and gear collapse in Kinshasa. The episode also discussed Honeywell's Mag Mav, Italian passengers and steep stairs, and the Swiss transport museum's search for a place to put a retired A340.

United's planned 9/11 flypast in Denver received pushback, though the flypast was canceled after the episode was recorded.
