PIA signs deal to refurbish Boeing 777 cabins with lie-flat business seats
Pakistan International Airlines has agreed a phased cabin modernisation programme covering five confirmed Boeing 777s, with options on four more. The work includes full-flat business class seats and new in-seat power throughout the cabin.

Pakistan International Airlines has signed an agreement to modernise the cabins of selected Boeing 777 aircraft, part of the carrier's push to improve its long-haul product.
The programme is phased. Five Boeing 777s are confirmed under the agreement, with options covering another four aircraft.
Work will include full-flat seats in business class, refurbishment of the existing economy class seating, and the installation of new 60W in-seat power supply and passenger service system equipment across the cabin. New carpets, branding elements and other interior upgrades are also in scope.
The agreement extends beyond cabin fittings. It covers engineering support, certification activities, material procurement and logistics, project management and technical coordination, with execution to be aligned with the airline's fleet planning, maintenance schedule and operational requirements.
PIA chief executive Muhammad Amir Hayat said the airline had begun a renewed effort to improve the passenger experience following the completion of its privatisation and the move to a consortium-led board and management. He described the 777 refurbishment as a phased programme intended to bring the cabin in line with global standards and passenger expectations across the long-haul network. Hayat said the airline was partnering with internationally recognised companies for the work.
