Riga Airport to begin preparatory work on terminal extension
Riga Airport has finished planning for a terminal extension and expects early construction work to start this month, adding check-in, waiting, security and baggage areas.
Riga Airport in Latvia has finished the planning and development phase of a project to extend its terminal, and preparatory building work is due to begin this month.
The plans add space to the existing terminal, including areas for check-in, for passengers to wait, for security screening and for baggage reclaim. The programme also covers upgrades to the ground around the terminal building, with work on access roads and car parking.
New technology for passenger services and security forms part of the project as well.
The airport has not given a completion date or a cost for the work.
