Riyadh Air shows first Boeing 787-9 in indigo livery
Riyadh Air has published images of its first production Boeing 787-9 painted in the carrier's indigo and lavender livery. The airline already operates eight Dreamliners in alternative colours.

Riyadh Air has released photographs of its first production Boeing 787-9 painted in the airline's indigo and lavender livery. The aircraft is registered HZ-RXAK.
The carrier posted the images on social media and tagged Boeing. It described them as a first look at the "Nile Blue" Dreamliner after painting was completed. The airline first introduced the livery design in June 2023 at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh.
According to ch-aviation data, Riyadh Air has taken delivery of eight Boeing 787-9 aircraft. All are painted in the airline's alternative white, indigo and lavender scheme.
At the unveiling of the indigo palette, the airline said its brand identity drew on the Kingdom's hospitality and the lavender that covers the desert in spring. The design includes references to the country and the city, among them the curves of Arabic script, along with the campaign line "The Future Takes Flight".
Design consultancy PriestmanGoode was commissioned to create two livery designs for the airline. The firm said the palette was reduced to five primary colours, including lavender, Sunset Peach and Indigo. The first of the two schemes, it said, was a statement indigo livery inspired by the changing colours of the sky from dusk to dawn.
