Royal Jordanian and Air China agree to expand cooperation

The two carriers signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing to explore closer commercial ties, including codeshare flights.

Royal Jordanian and Air China have signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing aimed at deepening cooperation between the two airlines. According to the carriers, the agreement covers a range of possible joint activities.

Areas under review include codeshare flights, interline agreements, ground handling, cargo handling and catering. The airlines said their respective hubs in Amman and Beijing could be used to offer additional connecting options for passengers travelling beyond each carrier's home market.

The memorandum is also intended to support a planned direct route between the two capital cities, though no timeline for the launch of that service was given. Further details on when the codeshare or other cooperative elements might take effect have not yet been disclosed by either airline.
