Russia extends certified service life of Superjet 100 variants to 20 years
Russia's aviation regulator has raised the permitted service life of two Superjet 100 variants from 15 to 20 years, along with higher flight-hour and flight-cycle limits. The manufacturer says the new thresholds represent about 40 percent of the type's original design life.

Russia's aviation regulator Rosaviatsiya has extended the permitted operating life of certain versions of the Yakovlev Superjet 100, according to the manufacturer. The change covers the RRJ-95B-100 and RRJ-95LR-100 variants, both powered by Sam146 engines.
The approved service life rises from 15 to 20 years. Allowed flight hours increase from 25,000 to 40,000, and the permitted number of flight cycles goes from 15,000 to 20,000.
Rosaviatsiya based the approval on calculations, load testing and operating experience to date, according to the report. Yakovlev said the new limits correspond to roughly 40 percent of the design life originally intended for the aircraft. Work on further increases is under way.
A total of 154 Superjet 100 aircraft are currently in service in Russia.
