Saab and GKN Aerospace expand Gripen engine collaboration
Saab and GKN Aerospace have signed an agreement to deepen cooperation on engines and propulsion systems for the Gripen E/F fighter jet, giving the UK-based supplier a gradually larger role in engine work.

Saab and GKN Aerospace have signed an agreement to deepen their cooperation on engines and propulsion systems for the Swedish Gripen E/F fighter jet.
GKN Aerospace, based in the United Kingdom, will gradually take on a larger share of engine-related work and provide expertise, capacity and technical support to the programme. The two companies already work together on the engine of the older Gripen C/D.
The arrangement follows a Swedish government decision to build up national competence and capability around the Gripen E/F powerplant. Saab and GKN Aerospace are to establish the necessary conditions jointly.
