Satena to launch direct Montería–Panama City flights in October 2026

Satena will fly nonstop between Montería and Panama City, the Colombian state-owned carrier's only active international route. The airline said the service restores its presence outside Colombia, linking Los Garzones International Airport with Tocumen International Airport.

Flights begin 26 October 2026, with tickets on sale from 3 October. Satena plans three weekly frequencies, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Estimated flight time is 49 minutes.

The route will use Brazilian-built Embraer 145 aircraft, configured for up to 50 passengers.

Mateo Arjona, president of Satena, said the link is intended to bring Colombian regions closer to connectivity options. Montería has a growing economic, business and tourism profile, he said, and a direct flight to Panama City opens new possibilities for residents and for travellers from that part of the country.

According to the airline, the route is meant to support commercial activity and passenger traffic from decentralised areas of Colombia without connecting through the country's traditional hub airports.
