Shohin Airlines takes delivery of first Let L-410 NG
The Tajik carrier has received its first fixed-wing aircraft, a Czech-built Let L-410 NG, after operating only helicopters. It plans to use the 19-seat turboprop to expand its domestic network.
Shohin Airlines of Tajikistan has received its first aircraft, a Let L-410 NG from the Czech manufacturer Let Aircraft Industries. The private carrier had operated only helicopters until now.
The aircraft puts the airline into regional passenger service with fixed-wing planes. The L-410 NG seats 19 passengers and is built for regional routes, including operations in demanding conditions and mountainous terrain.
Shohin Airlines says it plans to use the aircraft to build connections within Tajikistan and widen its route network. The carrier added that it is in talks with other manufacturers and is looking at expanding its passenger and cargo business as well as business aviation.
