Singapore Airlines and DHL renew contract for five 777 freighters

Singapore Airlines and DHL Express have renewed an operating contract covering five Boeing 777 freighters, the two companies said. Singapore Airlines continues to supply crew and maintenance support: its pilots fly the five aircraft and its engineers handle MRO work. Each freighter carries dual liveries and is powered by two GE Aerospace GE90 engines. Singapore Airlines took delivery of the aircraft between 2022 and 2023. They are based in Singapore and fly to the United States via Asia.

DHL said the 777Fs have become an integral part of its intercontinental operations. The two companies said basing the aircraft in Singapore deepens DHL's global aviation capabilities and anchors more long-haul cargo capacity at Changi. SIA commercial chief Lee Lik Hsin said the partnership draws on the airline's operational expertise and DHL Express' logistics network and reinforces Singapore's position as an air freight hub, particularly in e-commerce.
