Alaska Airlines to expand Seattle-Paine Field capacity by 50 percent by summer 2027
Alaska Airlines plans to increase seat capacity at Seattle-Paine Field by half by summer 2027, starting the expansion in fall 2026 with a new route to San Jose, California.
Alaska Airlines plans to raise seat capacity at Seattle-Paine Field by 50 percent by summer 2027, the carrier said. The expansion begins in fall 2026.
A new route to San José, California, starts in spring 2027, flown twice daily by Horizon Air, the airline's subsidiary.
Existing routes will grow too. Los Angeles gets two daily flights on larger Boeing 737 aircraft, and Portland will be served twice daily. Alaska Airlines will also add seat capacity on its San Diego and San Francisco routes.
The airline said the expansion is meant to strengthen its presence in the greater Seattle area.
