Tui has named a newly delivered Boeing 737 Max 8 after the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Varna, with Bulgaria's tourism minister acting as sponsor at a ceremony at Varna airport.
Tui has named a Boeing 737 Max 8 after Varna, the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal city. Bulgaria's tourism minister, Ilin Dimitrov, sponsored the aircraft at a ceremony at Varna airport.
The airline group said the naming reflects Bulgaria's growing weight as a holiday destination. Tui has raised its flight capacity to the Black Sea coast this year. Its own carrier flies weekly direct to Varna and Burgas, and the programme covers the Golden Sands region near Varna and Sunny Beach near Burgas.
The aircraft, registration G-TUMW, belongs to Tui's British subsidiary. The group said it continues the modernisation of its fleet.
