Southwest Airlines has opened reservations for its summer 2027 schedule, which the carrier describes as its largest summer programme ever. The schedule runs from 3 June to 2 August 2027 and includes up to 4,498 operations on peak days, according to the airline.

Austin is set for the biggest expansion in Texas. Southwest, which has operated in the state capital for nearly 50 years, plans up to 143 departures there, adding frequencies on existing routes and seven seasonal links, five of them entirely new to its network. The new international services are Liberia in Costa Rica, Nassau in the Bahamas, and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. These join existing international flights from Austin to Cancún, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, and San José in Costa Rica, which the airline says makes it the operator with the most international destinations and frequencies at that airport.

On the domestic side from Austin, Southwest is restoring daily seasonal service to Portland, Oregon, bringing back Saturday-only seasonal flights to Sarasota, Florida, adding weekend round trips to Savannah, Georgia, and starting Saturday-only service to Bozeman, Montana.

Nashville will see up to 220 flights in summer 2027, its highest summer volume there to date, according to the airline. The new seasonal routes connect Nashville with Boise, Idaho, Nassau in the Bahamas, and Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos.
