Swiss airspace saw peak summer traffic on Fridays and Mondays
Skyguide data show Swiss airspace was busiest on Fridays and Mondays during the summer holiday period, with nearly 93% of flights on time.

Skyguide, Switzerland's air navigation service provider, said summer air traffic over the country peaked on Fridays and Mondays between late June and mid-August.
The busiest single day was Friday, July 24, with 4,761 flights crossing Swiss airspace. Between June 26 and August 17, Skyguide handled 240,108 flights in total, an average of 4,503 per day, according to the agency.
Geneva airport recorded an average of 481 takeoffs and landings per day during the period. Zurich saw 839 daily movements on average.
Despite the heavy traffic volumes, Skyguide said nearly 93 percent of flights operated on schedule. Of the delays that did occur, 65 percent were attributed to weather conditions, the agency said.
The data released included no further details on specific incidents, disruptions or infrastructure changes.
