Officers who verify passengers' identification and boarding passes are now expected to stand for their shifts. The agency confirmed the nationwide change on September 29.
AFGE TSA Council 100, the union representing TSA workers, says chairs have already been taken away at most commercial airports. The union states it found out about the policy through its members, not through formal advance notification from the agency.
