Turkish Akinci UCAV fires UAV-300 ballistic missile in first live test
Baykar's Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle launched the UAV-300 air-launched ballistic missile at a maritime target over the Black Sea, hitting it at a range of more than 250 km, according to the company and Roketsan.
Turkey's Baykar Akinci Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle carried out the first live firing of the İHA-300, also called the UAV-300, air-launched ballistic missile, striking a maritime target more than 250 km away during a test over the Black Sea.
Baykar and its chief technology officer, Selçuk Bayraktar, released video of the trial on Sep. 11, 2026. Murat İkinci, general manager of Roketsan, which developed the İHA missiles, described the event as the first live test of the UAV-300 and said the weapon struck the target at a range of over 250 kilometers.
Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar said it was the longest-range domestically developed missile fired from another indigenous platform such as the Akinci. He described the UAV-300 as a supersonic missile rather than an air-launched ballistic missile. The weapon is also referred to as the 300ER by Turkish defense reporters.
The UAV-300 had previously been carried by the Akinci during a test of the smaller İHA-122, which the company reported on Sep. 9, a detail that indicated a UAV-300 test was imminent.
