Two passengers had to be overpowered and tied up on a Virgin Australia flight from Melbourne to Doha after an altercation, Australian media reported. The flight, VA7, was flown by Qatar Airways under a wet-lease arrangement.
According to those reports, the men attacked crew members and passengers, spat at them and claimed to have a weapon. Witnesses said it took several people to hold them until the aircraft landed.
Qatar Airways confirmed a physical altercation took place. Both men were handed over to local authorities after arrival in Doha, the airline said.
