UK turbojet engine family reaches production and flight testing
A UK Ministry of Defence programme with startup Alloyed has moved a 300N-class turbojet into serial production and brought a 1100N-class engine to flight-ready status in under seven months.

A UK Ministry of Defence programme with the startup Alloyed has produced a family of digitally manufactured turbojet engines. One model is now in serial production, and a larger one is flight-ready. The MOD announced the partnership on September 15, 2026.
The 300N-class engine has finished flight testing and entered serial production. According to the ministry, the 1100N-class engine went from first concept to flight-ready in under seven months.
The family covers a thrust range of 30N to 2000N and is meant for drones and larger aircraft. The MOD's Strategic Capabilities Office runs the programme, which pairs government investment with industry work.
The engines are designed, built and tested in Britain, which the MOD said creates a sovereign propulsion capability. The ministry said digital engineering lets new propulsion systems and variants move from design into production in months rather than years.
Luke Pollard, Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, said the programme showed defence and industry working together to deliver capabilities at the speed required. He said it combined sovereign manufacturing, digital engineering and industrial innovation.
