US lost or damaged 81 aircraft, helicopters and drones in Iran war, congressional report says
A report by the US Congress research service says US forces have lost or damaged 81 aircraft, helicopters and drones in the war against Iran, with costs estimated at 1.9 to 3.3 billion dollars.

US forces have lost or damaged 81 aircraft, helicopters and drones in the war against Iran so far, according to the research service of the US Congress.
MQ-9 Reaper drones make up more than half of the affected aircraft. The list also includes an F-35A fighter jet and an E-3 Sentry radar surveillance aircraft.
Depending on replacement procurement, financial damage is estimated at 1.9 to 3.3 billion dollars, or roughly 1.6 to 2.8 billion euros.
Not all 81 are permanently lost. Eight F-15 Strike Eagle fighters were lightly damaged in September during an Iranian attack on a base in Jordan; they may by now be operational again.
How many of the 81 were destroyed rather than damaged is not broken down in the report.
