Flight Details
The pilot reported that during the takeoff roll, he attempted to lift the aircraft off at approximately 65-75 knots indicated airspeed. Believing the aircraft was not responding properly, he cut power and attempted to land on the runway. The aircraft kept bouncing, so he added power for takeoff and subsequently collided with trees.
Pilot Statement
According to the pilot, the initial takeoff attempt was made at an airspeed between 65 and 75 knots. Sensing that the aircraft was not responding as expected, the pilot reduced engine power and tried to bring the aircraft back onto the runway. However, the aircraft continued to bounce. In response, the pilot increased power again to continue the takeoff, but the aircraft then struck trees.
Passenger Statements
Passengers on board reported that the aircraft veered to the right, lifted off to about 4 feet above ground level, and began to bounce. As the aircraft progressed along the runway, the bouncing became more severe until the aircraft collided with the trees.
