What happened
The pilot was operating the aircraft in cruise flight over a water reservoir when the event occurred. At approximately 500 feet above ground level, the aircraft collided with two waterfowl, identified as geese. One bird struck the wingtip, while the second impact occurred near the wing root.
Despite the collision, the pilot reported that aircraft control remained constant throughout the incident. No control problems were encountered following the strike. The pilot was able to maintain command of the airplane and returned to the airport without further incident. The flight concluded with a safe landing.
The investigation
Post-accident examination confirmed damage to the wing structure consistent with bird strikes. One impact point was located at the wingtip, and another near the wing root. No mechanical failures or malfunctions were found that would have precluded normal operation prior to the collision.
