What happened
During the flight, flight attendants notified the flight crew that they were experiencing symptoms of hypoxia. The first officer conducted an investigation of the aircraft cabin but found no immediate evidence of a problem. Following a second report from the flight attendants, which included the observation that their fingernails had turned blue, the captain requested and received clearance from Air Traffic Control to divert the aircraft. The flight landed at Indianapolis.
Upon arrival, medical examinations were performed on the flight attendants and four passengers. While these examinations revealed no evidence of carbon monoxide poisoning, hospital reports noted the possibility of toxic inhalational exposure.
