Accident Details
The student pilot was on his first supervised solo flight and had completed one touch-and-go landing. On the second touch-and-go, the pilot reported losing control of the aircraft at touchdown, veering to the left, and colliding with a runway information sign. The pilot stated that there was no mechanical malfunction of the aircraft or any system.
Background
According to a management official, the student pilot had approximately 18 total flight hours, all of which were dual instruction. On the morning of the accident, the student completed a phase check with another company flight instructor.
