What happened
On January 11, 2008, at approximately 1625 UTC, a Cessna 210M operated by Atlantic Aviation experienced a loss of engine power following takeoff from Eros Airport in Windhoek, Namibia. The aircraft, registered as V5-GWH, crashed into a residential area and struck a dwelling.
The accident resulted in 6 fatalities, involving the pilot and five passengers. The aircraft was destroyed by a post-crash fire. At the time of the accident, visual meteorological conditions (VMC) were in effect. The flight was en route to an airstrip at Mokuti Lodge, located near Tsumeb, Namibia.
