What happened
On December 29, 2008, a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, bearing registration PR-IME, was involved in an accident in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Shortly after departing, the flight crew observed an AC generator light, prompting them to initiate a return to the airport.
During the return flight, a fire indication was noted. The crew performed a forced landing, after which all occupants were not injured and egressed the aircraft normally. Following the landing, a fire was observed within the engine compartment, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft.
