What happened
On July 13, 2009, at approximately 2145 Pacific daylight time, a float-equipped Maule M-5-235C, registration N9138E, was performing a visual flight rules (VFR) cross-country personal flight. While landing on Kluane Lake, located approximately 127 miles northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, the aircraft nosed over and partially sank.
The accident resulted in one fatality and one serious injury among the two occupants on board.
