Accident Details
On July 13, 2009, at approximately 2145 Pacific daylight time, a Maule M-5-235C airplane equipped with floats, registration N9138E, nosed over and partially sank while landing on Kluane Lake. The accident site is located about 127 miles northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
Occupants and Injuries
There were two people aboard the aircraft. The pilot sustained serious injuries, and the one passenger sustained fatal injuries.
Flight Operation
The airplane was being operated as a visual flight rules (VFR) cross-country personal flight at the time of the accident.
