Accident Details
A private pilot was conducting a takeoff in a twin-engine airplane from a 3,000-foot grass airstrip. The aircraft accelerated to an indicated airspeed of approximately 80 mph when rain began suddenly and heavily. Unable to see, the solo pilot attempted to abort the takeoff; however, the airplane exited the airstrip and impacted a mobile home. The airplane came to rest in an upright position, and the pilot exited unassisted.

The fuselage sustained structural damage during the mishap.
Pilot Information
The pilot later reported that there were no mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane's flight controls. Additionally, the pilot stated that he had not received instruction in the accident airplane make/model and did not hold a multi-engine pilot rating at the time of the accident.
