Incident Summary
A pilot was conducting an agricultural aerial application flight when the airplane's right main landing gear struck a signpost. According to the pilot, the collision occurred while the aircraft was flying underneath electrical wires, and the impact resulted in the landing gear being “torn off” from the airframe. After the collision, the pilot flew the airplane back to the base of operations.
Landing and Damage
During the landing roll at the base, the absence of the right main landing gear caused the right wing to impact the ground. The airplane then spun 180 degrees before coming to rest in an upright position. The pilot reported that the airplane sustained substantial damage to the right wing as a result of the accident.
