Accident Summary
On May 13, 2014, at about 1650 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 210N, Brazilian registration PT-WHT, was substantially damaged during landing at Sinop Airport (SWSI) in Sinop, Mato Grosso, Brazil. The pilot and three passengers were not injured. The flight had originated from Claudia, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
Aircraft Damage and Failure
According to information released by the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) of Brazil, the nosegear actuator failed during the landing sequence. This failure resulted in the propeller and lower fuselage contacting the runway surface. The actuator was retained by investigators for further examination.
