Accident and Investigation
On October 12, 2014, a BAe Jetstream 31 was involved in an accident in the Dominican Republic. The Comisión Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación (CIAA) of the Dominican Republic has notified the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the occurrence. Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CIAA's investigation, specifically as the State of Design and Manufacture for the engines.
All investigative information will be released by the CIAA. The NTSB's involvement is limited to support regarding the engines. Further details, including the circumstances leading to the accident, the number of occupants, and the extent of any damage or injuries, have not been disclosed by the investigating authorities at this time.
