NTSB Appoints Representative for 2014 Boeing 737-400 Accident in Afghanistan

Investigation Overview and International Cooperation The Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Boeing 737-400 that occurred on November 7, 2014. In response to this notification, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the ACAA in its investigation. This appointment was made under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international accident investigations, as the United States is the State of Manufacturer and Design of the aircraft. ## Information Release The ACAA, as the investigating authority, will be responsible for releasing all investigative information related to the accident. The NTSB's role is limited to providing assistance through its appointed representative in accordance with international aviation safety protocols.
