Accident Overview
On December 13, 2015, at approximately 0826 UTC, a Beech A36TC, registered as RA-2587G, experienced an in-flight loss of control and collided with terrain near Suvorovskaya Village in Stavropolsky Kray, Russia. The aircraft was registered to and operated by a private individual. The flight, which was non-U.S. and non-commercial, departed from Myrny Airstrip in Kislovodsk City, Russia, and was destined for Buzuluk, Russia. No flight plan was filed, and instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) prevailed in the area. The airplane was destroyed by impact and a subsequent postcrash fire. The non-certificated pilot and three passengers sustained fatal injuries. The flight had originated approximately 14 minutes prior to the accident.
Witness Observations
Witnesses reported that after takeoff, the pilot climbed to about 2,500 feet above ground level and then proceeded in a northerly direction toward the Bogurustan mountain range. As the aircraft crossed the mountain range, the non-certificated pilot encountered IMC. Witnesses then observed the airplane descending in a nose-down pitch attitude, which was followed by impact with terrain. The sound of the engine was heard before ground contact. The accident site was located approximately 15 nautical miles from the departure airstrip at a bearing of 011 degrees.
