NTSB Appoints Representative for UK Investigation of 2016 Airbus A330 Incident

Incident Notification and International Cooperation On June 26, 2016, the United Kingdom's Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of a serious incident involving an Airbus Industrie A330 323 airplane. In response to this notification, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the government of the United Kingdom in its investigation. This appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international cooperation in aviation accident and incident investigations. The AAIB remains the lead investigative authority for the event, and all investigative information related to the incident is expected to be released by the AAIB.
