Incident Overview
On March 20, 2017, an ATR42 aircraft, equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100/105 turboprop engines and Hamilton Standard propellers, experienced a runway excursion after landing at the Coari Municipality Airport (SBUY) in the State of Amazonas, Brazil.
Investigation
The Brazilian Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) has initiated an investigation into the event. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is participating in the investigation on behalf of the United States, as the State of Manufacturer of the propellers, under the provisions of Annex 13 to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
