Incident Overview
On January 23, 2018, at approximately 1207 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-28 airplane, Swiss registration HB-PGF, and an Airbus-Helicopter EC135P2, German registration D-HDRV, collided in midair near Oberhausen-Rheinhausen, Germany. Both aircraft were destroyed, and all pilots and passengers on board were fatally injured.
